Students Receive Honors During Annual Awards Day

At Louisiana College's annual Awards Day chapel service, numerous students were honored for their involvement on campus.

Lacey Finch of Georgetown was named the Outstanding Student Government Association (SGA) Officer, and Terry Young of Pineville was named the Outstanding SGA Member.

Andrea Swartz of Lincoln, Neb., was named the Outstanding Union Board Officer, and Michelle Lumpkin of Baton Rouge was named the Outstanding Union Board Member. Both the SGA and Union Board award recipients were selected by the members of each organization.

The Presidents' Table Progress Award was given to the Breaking All Barriers and Baptist Campus Ministries organizations, and the President's Trophy was given to Breaking All Barriers.

Jeri Terry of Baton Rouge received the Civitan Citizenship Award. Bridgette Blood of St. Landry was named the Outstanding Commuter Student.

Lori Miles of Crown Point, Ind., and Jonathan Bailey Maurice were named the Most Spirited Students of the Year.

Dr. Wayne Jacobs, director of intramurals at LC, awarded the first William C. Todd Awards for Intramural Sportsmanship. The awards are named in honor of long-time LC professor Bill Todd. Four intramural teams were honored for their sportmanship in play.

Those students who were selected by the student body as Campus Favorites were also recognized. Students named Campus Favorites include: Ann-Victoria Barineau of Denham Springs, Ivonne Bermudez of Slidell, Jennifer Brinker of Thibodeaux, Tim Brinkley of Sulphur, Leah Deshotels of Dry Creek, Rebecca Galliano of Denham Springs, Jeremy Gaudin of St. Martinville, Justin Langford of Baton Rouge, Robert Morris of Bossier City, Lisa Oakman of Sulphur, Matt Palmer of Eunice, Kelly Preston of West Monroe, Emily Red of Albuquerque, NM, Aaron Reilly of Kenner, Nathan Sharbono of Jena, and Will Stone of Baker.,p> Lori Miles of Crown Point, Ind., and Chad Gilbert of Lafayette were named this year's Darling and Colonel.

The faculty and administration congratulate the students on these honors.
