NBA News, 02/26/2004: Well, my dream of the Nuggets making the playoffs this year is becoming more and more of a reality. Carmelo Anthony has been every bit as spectacular as LeBron James, Andre Miller has been a huge addition, Marcus Camby has had a solid year, and things are looking good for a team which tied for the worst record in the NBA last year. My picks were for the Nuggets to make the playoffs (getting closer) and for the Cavaliers to make the playoffs (in that conference, they've still got a chance). Now that it looks like both may happen, who knows...maybe they'll meet each other in the finals. What a great finals that would be!
NBA News, 07/12/2003: Due to a terrible incident here in Albuquerque, in which Allen Iverson arrived many hours late for an appearance, and due to other things taking place, I have decided to drop AI and the 6ers and move my allegiance to the Denver Nuggets. They have really impressed me of late, seeming like a franchise on the rise, starting to do things the right way, and being from Denver, that was just icing on the cake.
NBA News, 10/28/2002: Tomorrow is the start of the NBA regular season, and I can't wait! I still love football #1, but I am ready to watch Iverson and company make another run toward an NBA Championship, hopefully dethroning the Lakers in the process -- a rematch of the championship a couple years ago.
NBA News, 02/27/2002: Man I'm pumped! I've enjoyed Nick Van Exel since he's been in the NBA, and I've been hoping, for a long time, that he'd be able to turn around that disappointing Denver franchise, but he's spent enough time in purgatory, and now I'm an excited that he has a real shot to win an NBA championship with the Mavericks. I've liked the Mavs since Mark Cuban took over, and since his arrival, his team has improved year after year. Here he goes again, making a massive trade, to maybe put his team over the edge in terms of beating those nasty Lakers. I wouldn't mind seeing the Mavs win the NBA Championship now (although I am still pulling for Iverson and those 6ers -- by the way, good job Philly, booing Kobe when he won MVP of the All-Star game). However, what I really want, what I really really want, is to see the Mavs utterly destroy the Lakers in the playoffs. Switching to the opposite end of the spectrum, it's been rough seeing the Wizards struggle lately, and it is devastating to hear that Jordan will be out for awhile, but one thing I know, and other people should remember, is that Jordan is Jordan, and that you can never count Jordan out of anything -- the Wizards will still make the playoffs.
NBA News, 01/13/2002: Yes, the odds are still against the Wizards making the playoffs and Jordan making another fantastic postseason journey, but I am keeping the faith, and know that you can NEVER count Jordan out of anything. Other than that, the 6ers will turn things around and become a dominant team again in the Eastern Conference, the Lakers have proven their vulnerability lately, but will probably get hot again when it counts -- playoff time, and congratulations to the Bulls for beating the Lakers; maybe this is the start of something new -- winning.
NBA News, 11/13/2001: I know Jordan has gotten off to a slow start in Washington, but I am still pulling for him, and think he'll find a way to propel the Wizards into the 2002 NBA Playoffs. Other than that, the 6ers will get back on track with Iverson in the lineup, and am excited to see Iverson and Jordan on the court at the same time.
NBA News, 2001 Playoffs: I know the Lakers seem unbeatable right now, but I am really pulling for the 76ers, with Allen Iverson and Dikembe Mutombo to win it all. The Bucks probably have the best shot against the Lakers, if they get really hot with their shooting. However, the 76ers have really had an amazing year, and it would be great to see Allen Iverson win his first NBA Championship.
